Violin Lessons Tailored for All Levels by Indiana University Educator

My name is Jimena and I am a violin teacher and performer. I just graduated with my master’s from The Juilliard School and previously earned by bachelor’s at Jacobs School of music from Indiana University. I have over 5 years of teaching experience ranging from private to group classes in different levels. I have been a Juilliard Music Advancement Program (MAP) violin fellow/assistant and a teaching artist in Sphinx Summer Academy. I have also assist in Opus 118 and Harmony Program. My lessons are entirely tailored for each of my students needs. I specialize in classical and Baroque violin. I can help you in all skills regardless of your level. I’m very flexible and make my lessons full of learning and fun! When I am not teaching I am performing concerts. So far I have tour China, Bolivia and UK with Juilliard415 and worked with wonderful directors. Outside of music I love painting with watercolor. I can teach in both English and Spanish!

I tailor my teaching to each of my students. Depending on the age and the level, I am happy to adjust my curriculum to meet my student needs and goals. I use Suzuki books but also try to find songs that my students like and make arrangements so that they can play them and have a good time. Whether or not you are serios about music, I make sure that I am giving you the fundamentals techniques but also having a good time! My lessons are engaging and very dynamic. I have many software and online resources to make sure online teaching is not a barrier for learning the violin. I have taught many different students from 5 years old to adults. My teaching strengths lie in creating interactive lessons that promote active participation as well as fostering understating of musical concepts and guiding my students in their violin journeys. I am also open to siblings or group lessons!
