Laurie worked with Jamie on vocal exercises and applying them to songs, focusing on spontaneity and reducing tension. Jamie practiced with arpeggios, triads, and different vowel sounds, then applied these techniques to "Santa Baby," "Dream a Little Dream of Me," and "Bubbly." Laurie suggested movement and sing-along tracks to aid memorization and expression, and recommended Jamie continue practicing the vocalizing patterns while maintaining spontaneity.

During a recent vocal lesson, Laurie DePauw collaborated with Jamie Pommrehn on techniques to lessen vocal tension and boost ease in her singing. Jamie honed her skills on various patterns and songs like 'Santa Baby' and 'Bubbly,' with Laurie offering insights on timing and phrasing. To reinforce their work, Jamie was given vocalizing exercises, specifically slides and sirens to practice while lying down, and was advised to engage in spontaneous song practice to maintain a relaxed vocal approach.

Laurie and Jamie collaborated on vocal exercises, such as patterns and sirens, with the goal of refining Jamie's vocal technique, expanding her range, and improving breath control. Their lesson also involved exploring potential song selections from female praise and worship artists, specifically seeking pieces that align with Jamie's vocal range and offer opportunities for practicing legato phrasing. For continued vocal development, Jamie was tasked with practicing the assigned vocalizing patterns and delving into the suggested songs. A follow-up lesson is set for next Thursday at 12:30 to build upon these skills.
