Elijah - Get to know your vocal coach
Greetings! My name is Elijah Stuart and I am a proud Graduate of the University of West Georgia. Where I received a Bachelor's of Arts in Music with a concentration in Vocal Performance. I have experience in multiple vocal styles and techniques such as Musical Theater, Contemporary and Alternative music. I also have experience in singing in 5 different languages, such as English, French, German, Italian, and Latin. My teaching style centers around comfortability and adapting my methods to your voice. My primary focus will be on pitch accuracy, breath support, diction, and projection. To help you sing the best way possible. I believe as a voice teacher, you guide students on their vocal journey, fostering healthy technique, musicality, and performance skills. This involves diagnosing vocal habits, demonstrating proper breath support and resonance, and selecting appropriate repertoire. Beyond technical instruction, you cultivate confidence, stage presence, and a deep understanding of musical expression. Patience, strong communication, and a keen ear are essential. You'll work with diverse ages and skill levels, adapting your approach to individual needs and aspirations, whether they dream of Broadway, a church choir, or simply singing for pleasure. It's a rewarding role, shaping not just voices, but also artistic growth. I look forward to meeting with you soon!

Singing lessons highlights
My teaching methodology focuses on vocal health and sustainable technique. I prioritize a holistic approach, starting with listening to each student's unique goals and history. We build from the ground up: mastering posture, breath, and alignment for a solid foundation. Then, we explore phonation and resonance through gentle exercises, finding the voice's natural "ring." I emphasize pitch intonation and critical listening, empowering students to self-assess. Repertoire study applies these skills, fostering artistry. My aim is to build confidence and foster a lifelong love for singing, adapting my approach to every individual. I also understand that vocal issues often have psychological roots. Performance anxiety, self-consciousness, or even past negative experiences can hinder a singer's progress. My role extends beyond just vocal mechanics; it's also about fostering confidence and a positive mindset. I encourage a growth mindset, celebrating small victories and reframing "mistakes" as learning opportunities. Sometimes, we'll simply talk through anxieties, or I'll offer visualization techniques to help them feel more at ease.
