About your music teacher
Hi! I’m Jules Steven Josol — a music teacher, performer, and recent graduate with a Bachelor of Music in Music Composition from Silliman University. I love helping people discover their musical voice, whether that’s through singing, playing an instrument, or writing their own music. I run Music Lab by Juls Duo, an online music school where I teach voice, saxophone, piano, guitar, and bass guitar. My lessons are tailored to each student’s pace and personality, with a strong focus on creativity, technique, and genuine musical enjoyment. As a singer, I’m also very active in choirs — I sing tenor with the Silliman University Campus Choristers and the Men’s Glee Club. That experience has taught me so much about teamwork, discipline, and the joy of making music with others, and I bring that energy into my teaching. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to sharpen your skills, I’m here to guide and support you every step of the way. I believe learning music should be fun, meaningful, and something you can carry with you for life.

Music lessons at a glance
In my teaching, I focus on creating a supportive, engaging, and personalized learning environment. I understand that every student is different, so I adapt my methods to match each individual’s pace, interests, and goals. I always start with the basics—developing a solid foundation in technique, listening skills, and musical understanding. As students grow, I gradually introduce more advanced concepts while encouraging creativity, confidence, and self-expression. Whether I'm working with a complete beginner or a more experienced musician, I combine structure with flexibility. I use a mix of exercises, songs, theory, and performance practice to keep lessons well-rounded and meaningful. Most of all, I want my students to enjoy the process. Learning music should be exciting, inspiring, and something they look forward to—not just a task to complete. My role is to guide, encourage, and help them discover their own unique musical voice.
