Singing Lessons by University of North Texas Educator - Enhancing Musicality

I am an experienced teacher with many successful students. My students have succeeded in auditions, competitions, recitals, and more. I tailor instruction to your individual goals. I am flexible, knowledgeable, energetic and enthusiastic. I hold degrees in Vocal Performance and Mustc Education from the University of North Texas and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I also hold Texas Teaching Certification in Music. I have taught students of all ages. I have experience with both online and in-person lessons. I can teach many genres and levels. I am glad technology has enabled remote lessons to be more accessible and available for all kinds of learners. You can both learn new skills and improve skills. Lessons can target specific skills and general skill growth. Many of my students have made music part of their lives. I’m happy to help you!

Teaching methodology varies based on the needs and goals of the student. I use a variety of methods and genres. For voice, classical, contemporary, sacred, musical theater and pop are some of these. Piano can use Alfred, Bastienne, Faber and Suzuki. Any large scale method can be supplemented with individual songs or additional specific pieces desired by a student. You can find versions of most songs to work on any level, from beginner to advanced. Songs can be transposed to different keys or can be adjusted with tempo. Piano pieces range from easy/beginner to advanced/virtuosic. Additional resources can be used to work on rhythm skills and sight reading. All is individually based and tailored on student needs, goals and desires. Combinations of methods are common in some circumstances. Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions as you start!
