About your vocal coach
I am a graduate of a performing arts high school who has dabbled in everything from pop musical composition, to musical theater singing, to classical choral music. I want to get you involved in whatever you would like to learn most about! I have experience singing in a variety of languages as well including German, French, Italian, and Hebrew. I cater to beginner and mid-level students and can get you started with repertoire and practice techniques you can practice right at home. Whether it be a hobby for fun or a skill you would like to hone professionally, I am sure I can assist you and make great progress towards the goals you want to achieve. I want to be part of what makes you fall in love with singing and music, and I would be honored if you allowed me to enter and help you pursue your craft to your highest potential. Let's work together to help you sing your heart out, loud and proud!

Singing lessons overview
I am a very hands-on person when it comes to my teaching style and will prioritize instruction from myself directly to you. I try to emphasize musicality, expressiveness, and building confidence in my lessons and these cores are what help guide my training. In other words, vocal warmups and even repertoire itself will be based in making sure that you are free, expressive, and musical. I prioritize your learning by keeping groups small, no more than ten people. This ensures that each person can have their own time to receive feedback and actually make progress in every lesson. Additionally, it allows me to personalize and tailor my material to the people I am working with so that I can help learners get exactly what they want from singing. I want to set-up students to feel pride in themselves and their skills, and to motivate them to love to practice on their own. I want to inspire others to love music just as much as I do!

Singing concept taught by Talia
Talia gave Miley a singing lesson focused on breathing exercises, vocal warm-ups like sirens, and singing scales to improve pitch and vocal range. Miley practiced the "lava chicken" song and will prepare "Die with a Smile" by Lady Gaga for the next lesson. Talia also communicated with Miley's mom about the techniques they were using to help Miley transition smoothly between chest and head voice.

Talia S. coached Leah Reynolds in preparation for a musical theater audition, focusing on vocal techniques and interpretation of the song "Alyssa Green." They worked on breath control, vocal warm-ups, and stylistic choices to enhance Leah's performance. Talia provided detailed feedback and assigned Leah to listen to the song multiple times, marking breaths, and practicing specific sections for improved confidence and emotional delivery before her Saturday audition.

Talia coached Shayel on vocal techniques, including warm-ups, breathing exercises, and understanding vocal registers like falsetto. Shayel practiced scales and sirens to improve vocal control and was assigned "Japanese Denim" by Daniel Caesar as a cover song to prepare for a performance-focused lesson next week. They also discussed music theory concepts like stable and unstable cadences.

Talia and Leah had a singing lesson where they worked on vocal warm-ups, breathing exercises, and Leah's performance of "Killing Me Softly." Talia challenged Leah's vocal classification and introduced "Alyssa Green" as a potential audition song. Leah was assigned to analyze the lyrics and prepare a narrative for "Alyssa Green," and Talia mentioned a rate increase for future lessons.

Leah practiced vocal warm-ups, pitch correction, and lyrical interpretation. Talia assigned Leah to record the song, avoid listening for two days, then self-critique, and will send a PDF of adjectives for emotional nuance.

Talia coached Emily on her audition song, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," focusing on vocal techniques like opening her mouth and emphasizing vowels, as well as connecting with the character and implementing dynamics. Emily practiced the song multiple times, incorporating Talia's feedback on higher notes and transitions. Talia will send written feedback and encouraged Emily to mark up her lyrics and record herself practicing.
