Singing lessons highlights
In my personal teaching approach, I focus on the following: pitch, tone, rhythm, diction, and performance deliverance. Pitch criteria starts with random pitches that will aid in establishing your voice range; how high or low you are capable at reaching. Then with training and time, we will learn to expand our reach on both ends of the spectrum. Tone technique include English and Spanish vowel exercises along with diction that will help establish a specific sound you are determined in producing. Whether it is a warm rich resonating sound or a high soft crisp voice, my diction and tone exercises will assist in locating your desired sound and pronunciation of words and phrases. Rhythm criteria will focus on speed and accuracy. Slow or fast songs, regardless, both require strong tempo focus that a singer must be able to control and adapt. With my assistance, students will learn to stay on path without altering speed. Performance deliverance will explore options in singing with confidence and posture. Whether you are looking to perform for fun or enjoy singing in private, confidence is a major role when it comes to honing in your voice!

Singing concept taught by Armando
During their recent guitar lesson, Armando and Jacob honed various techniques. They focused on chord transitions for 'House of the Rising Sun,' a shuffle riff, and the intro to Pink Floyd's 'Wish You Were Here.' Jacob dedicated his practice to picking patterns and chord progressions, aiming for improved fluidity and accuracy, with Armando offering guidance on finger placement and strumming techniques for each piece.

Armando conducted a guitar lesson with Jacob, addressing specific guitar issues and focusing on improving chord transitions within songs like 'House of the Rising Sun' and 'Hurt.' During the lesson, they also learned two new riffs: the 'Shuffle Riff,' which is melody-based on strings 4, 5, and 6, and the 'Bad to the Bone' riff, played on strings 3 and 4. Armando placed a strong emphasis on rhythm and accurate finger placement. For practice, Jacob was assigned these riffs and songs, with the instruction tailored to his preference for chords, aiming to enhance his skills and prepare him for soloing.

Armando conducted a lesson with 14-year-old Matthew, delving into heavy metal vocals and guitar techniques. Their focus was on coordinating singing with guitar playing, specifically using tracks by Metallica and Black Sabbath. Armando introduced exercises to engage the diaphragm for achieving gritty vocal tones and provided sheet music for Matthew to practice. The instruction will resume next week.
