Guitar lessons quick guide
Making music comprehensible for all ages is my specialty. I first start with a perception of my student; for example, what does the student see or hear when looking at or playing music? Are there any ways the student can express his or herself? Is the music making the student feel overwhelmed or undermined? These types of questions are thought of first so I can have a better understanding of the student and I can make a progress plan based on that students comprehension. Every individual is different and learns in their own way. As an educator, I strive to find a path to success for the students perception of music reading, writing, technique and performance. Using songs and exercises provided by many levels of books and repertoire, students will also have the opportunity to use preferred music to ease into music lessons at a scholar level.

During their recent guitar lesson, Armando and Jacob honed various techniques. They focused on chord transitions for 'House of the Rising Sun,' a shuffle riff, and the intro to Pink Floyd's 'Wish You Were Here.' Jacob dedicated his practice to picking patterns and chord progressions, aiming for improved fluidity and accuracy, with Armando offering guidance on finger placement and strumming techniques for each piece.

Armando conducted a guitar lesson with Jacob, addressing specific guitar issues and focusing on improving chord transitions within songs like 'House of the Rising Sun' and 'Hurt.' During the lesson, they also learned two new riffs: the 'Shuffle Riff,' which is melody-based on strings 4, 5, and 6, and the 'Bad to the Bone' riff, played on strings 3 and 4. Armando placed a strong emphasis on rhythm and accurate finger placement. For practice, Jacob was assigned these riffs and songs, with the instruction tailored to his preference for chords, aiming to enhance his skills and prepare him for soloing.
