About your guitar teacher

wiingy ChatGPT said: I offer personalized lessons in voice and guitar with a strong foundation in the bel canto tradition of singing. My approach emphasizes healthy vocal technique, expressive performance, and musical fluency, helping students build both confidence and skill. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your technique, lessons are tailored to meet your individual goals. Alongside voice training, I provide guitar instruction that supports accompaniment and solo performance, integrating ear training and musical interpretation to create well-rounded musicians. With experience in education, performance, and the arts, I bring a practical, student-centered perspective to every lesson. My students have gone on to become performers, songwriters, and educators, using their skills both locally and internationally. I also support students in developing second-language musical abilities and offer guidance in performance preparation, songwriting, and stage presence. My teaching fosters not only technical ability but also artistic expression and confidence.

Guitar lessons overview

I empower my students to perform, play and create. My philosophy centers on this. From the first note sung, or first string played, I want my students to enjoy the art. I use that as a foundation, so that when we come to the heavy and hard times, we know what we are aiming for. To do this, it is important to have a solid foundation in how the instrument works, with voice, we want to use the voice in the most powerful and most free way possible. As we progress in strength, we may begin to explore other styles or languages based off of the student's needs or preferences. This will likely include singing in other languages, discussing interpretation, and the history behind each piece. It is a similar method with song writing and guitar. With song writing in particular, there is an initial focus on the student's work and own style. We then create a plan to incorporate other disciplines such as lyrics writing or arranging.

I like how relaxed the sessions are with Nicholas . It feels like I’m just jamming with a friend who happens to be good at teaching.
