Hi there. My name is Christian and I am a professional actor, singer, music director, and voice teacher! In our lesson, we will build you a healthy vocal technique and strong stage presence, find the repertoire that best reflects your goals, and give you the tools to practice what you need in a way that is both honest and encouraging. I can help you become a better singer, prepare you for an audition, and help you discover your inner artist all with the convenience of your nearest online device! I hold a Master of Music from Arizona State University and have experience singing popular music, musical theatre, opera, and art song. Whether you are applying to a music school, auditioning for a show, looking to front a band, or singing for your own enjoyment, our lesson will be a space for you to try new things, make new sounds, and explore all you have to offer as a singer. Your body is your instrument and your voice is the sound that comes out. This is why each lesson begins with physical stretches and exercises to build our strength and stamina and eliminate muscle tension. From there, we will work on musical fundamentals including pitch matching, vowel purity, airflow and placement, and rhythmic accuracy. After discussing different performances of your piece and what stands out to you, we will examine the lyrics and develop your stage presence with acting choices and techniques including focal points, emotional manifestation, and blocking that suits the genre of your piece. With each lesson, you will become more articulate and specific in your musical tastes and choices! The larger number of concepts you can articulate and connect, the faster and farther you will grow with each lesson.
