I'm Dave Astro, a seasoned guitar tutor with a Masters in Music. With over 20 years of experience, I offer engaging and personalized guitar lessons in Acoustic, Bass, Electric, Classical, and General Guitar. I'm a guitarist, composer and instructor based in Los Angeles, CA, and Bern Switzerland. Widely known for my work with musical agencies and my music group under my own name. I have shared the stage with such artists as Jeff Hamilton, Bob Reynolds and Bob Mintzer. As an independent recording artist, I have released the singles “Yosemite”,“Errands” and most recently, the single “Study Kat". I have received my master's degree in Studio Guitar at USC's Thornton School of Music where I studied with such great artists as Paul Jackson Jr. Frank Potenza and Bruce Forman.

My teaching approach revolves around integrating music theory, technique development, sight reading, performance coaching, and ear training to deliver comprehensive and engaging lessons. Specializing in Classical Guitar, Bass Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, and Electric Guitar, I cater to a diverse range of students including kids, beginners, intermediate, advanced, and adult learners. With over 200 students taught, I leverage a blend of online platforms like "Zoom" and offline tools such as music sheets and instrument demonstrations to offer interactive and personalized tutoring sessions. By following a structured curriculum that combines elements of theory and practical skills, I ensure that each student receives a well-rounded education, empowering them to excel in their musical journey.
