About your guitar teacher

I'm Ben Dlugos, a passionate guitar teacher with over 10 years of playing experience as well as 2 years of tutoring experience. I can teach at all levels, styles, and genres. I specialize in rock, metal, punk, grunge, and alternative as well as teaching advanced picking techniques and working on stamina and speed for all things guitar! I can adapt to any tuning for students looking to play more extreme styles of rock and metal! If you've been looking to learn certain newer songs an older tutor may not understand I am the one for you! I have no preferences for style or genre and encourage creativity and individuality in all students. Having started playing at a young age, I understand it can be hard to find what you love to play and incorporate it into a lesson without it being "looked down upon." Bring all the weird, fun, heavy, crazy music that you want to break down and learn. Book a lesson and learn what you have always wanted!

Guitar lessons overview

As a guitar tutor, my teaching approach is rooted in empathy, encouragement, and the belief that music should always be a joyful and personal experience. I strive to create a welcoming, pressure-free environment where students of all backgrounds and skill levels feel safe to explore, learn, and express themselves. I never judge students based on their musical preferences—whether you’re into pop, punk, metal, jazz, or classical, I believe every genre has value and something unique to offer. My goal is to help you learn the music you love, so that you can grow your skills while staying inspired and connected to your own creative voice. Lessons are always tailored to the individual. I take time to understand your goals, interests, and pace of learning. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to sharpen advanced techniques, I support you with patience, clarity, and a sense of fun. We’ll build a foundation in technique and theory only as much as it serves your creative goals—because ultimately, learning guitar should be as rewarding and enjoyable as playing it. I’m here not just to teach, but to guide you in making the kind of music that excites you. Because music isn't about fitting into someone else’s mold—it's about discovering your own sound and having a great time doing it.
