Piano lessons at a glance
I strive to provide a personalized, engaging and empathic approach to each student. It is important to remember that no two human beings are the same, so I take great care in crafting meaningful lesson plans with achievable goals for each student. Strong emphasis is placed on learning to approach the piano from a "low tension" state of mind. My desire is to provide each student with a firm understanding of the fundamentals of music and piano technique, so that the individuals true and highest potential can be developed. I encourage expression through music, and welcome input from each student in regard to their own goals. We will spend time sight reading, ear training and will study music theory, and composition and arranging, if the student desires. I like to utilize many types of materials, including classical piano music, real books, backing tracks, recordings and a variety of other media to keep the student engaged. It is important to approach learning music and the piano from a curious state of mind, and it should be FUN!
