Hi, I’m Lasiska Malan, a passionate singing instructor dedicated to helping beginners unlock their musical potential. Singing has been a part of my life since I was six years old, and over the years, I’ve developed a deep love for performing and teaching in a variety of styles, including folk, country, movie, and classical. Although I’ve been teaching for less than a year, I’ve had the privilege of guiding five students—kids and adults alike—on their journey to finding their voice. My lessons are tailored to each individual, focusing on vocal techniques, confidence-building, and exploring the joy of music. I believe singing is a powerful way to express oneself, and I strive to create a warm and supportive environment for every learner. As a singing instructor, my teaching methodology is centred on creating a fun, supportive, and personalized learning environment. I begin by understanding each student’s goals, strengths, and areas for improvement. For beginners, I focus on building a strong foundation by teaching proper breathing techniques, posture, and vocal warm-ups. I incorporate relatable examples and exercises to simplify complex concepts like pitch control and rhythm. I use a step-by-step approach, combining practical exercises with theory, to ensure students grasp both the “how” and the “why” of singing. I also encourage regular practice and provide constructive feedback to help learners track their progress. For kids, I make lessons engaging by incorporating songs they love, while for adults, I tailor lessons to align with their preferred styles. My ultimate goal is to help students build confidence, improve their vocal ability, and enjoy the art of singing.
