Jay - Know your tutor
Hello, I'm Jay Banik, a math tutor specializing in various subjects like Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, and more for students of all levels. My teaching philosophy revolves around making math engaging and relatable for students, building their conceptual understanding. I believe in active student engagement through problem-solving, real-life applications, and interactive activities. I found my love to reach people the day I taught division to my young nephew; I realized I had a knack for it. So, I had been a pro-bono tutor at high school, teaching kids mathematics, a TA during my Grad and Undergrad School at University of Toronto. I am able to make mathematics, easy for people. So, Let's make math learning a fun and fulfilling experience together!

Class overview
As a versatile math tutor, I specialize in elementary to college level math courses. My tutoring methodology is engaging, collaborative, and concept-focused. I believe in adapting my teaching style to fit the individual needs of each student. Through practice drills and interactive whiteboarding, I help students visualize and understand math concepts clearly. Short, frequent quizzes are used to master specific topics, leading to significant improvements in grades.I believe that patience and listening to the student is the key to success, which is why many students have taken 20+ sessions with me to imprive their skills. Besides, teaching how to solve a sum, I also am privy to some neat tricks that can speed up the solving process. I believe every student is unique, so I must adapt myself to them not the other way round. Let's work together to conquer math challenges and achieve academic success!
