Hello, I'm Daphne Katz, and I am a French tutor and native speaker with 5 years experience. I am currently in my third year of my bachelor's degree in Comparative Literature, and I feel passionate about language learning and education more broadly. As an avid foreign language learner myself, I have learned to tailor my approach to each student's specific learning style and needs, fostering a supportive and empathetic environment. Whether you're a school student working towards an exam, a college student looking for support on an assignment, or an adult starting from scratch, I strive to make French learning enjoyable and effective for all levels.

As a French tutor, I have experience teaching students of all levels, including school, college, adult, and professional learners. My teaching methodology is heavily inspired by my CELTA training which, though it is an EFL Teacher training program, has provided many transferable skills with respect to lesson planning and activity design. In class I generally take a very adaptable approach, ready to alter the lesson according to the needs of the student. I feel passionate about encouraging students to try, despite the possibility of making a mistake, and for that reason I often put an emphasis on conversation. Additionally, I like to recommend media such as films, shows, and podcasts to encourage my students to interact with the language outside of lessons.
