Experienced Math Tutor | Algebra, Geometry, Trig, Pre-Calc & SAT/ACT | 8+ Experience

I've been tutoring Math for over 7 years, working with students across the US in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and SAT/ACT Math prep. I hold a B.Tech from IIT Roorkee, but what's shaped me more as a tutor is the thousands of hours spent actually figuring out why students get stuck and how to get them moving again. I never jump straight into explaining things. I first ask a few questions to understand exactly where the student is — what they know, what they don't, and where the real confusion lies. Then I plan my approach around that specific student rather than following a fixed script. My sessions run live on an interactive online whiteboard, camera-on, so it genuinely feels like a real one-on-one class. I use different colored pens to break down problems step by step — highlighting key information in one color, showing the working in another, and marking important formulas or warning points in a different one. It keeps things visually organized and makes it much easier to follow along. Wherever graphs are involved, I bring in Desmos or GeoGebra so students can see concepts come to life visually rather than just reading about them. I also make sure sessions feel relaxed and judgment-free. When a student makes a mistake, I treat it as useful information, not a failure. I acknowledge what they did right first, then we work through it together calmly. After solving any problem, I always ask the student to explain how they'd approach something similar on their own. That one habit builds real independence and confidence over time — which is honestly my biggest goal as a tutor.
