About your tutor
Hello there! My name is Lucas and I am a musical theatre performer and music tutor based in Surrey, England. I have been teaching piano/singing/music theory in person and online for six years and have gained Grade 8 Piano, Grade 5 Music Theory and a BA(Hons) in Musical Theatre alongside teaching. As I consistently teach a multitude of levels and abilities every week, I would love to hear from you whether you are a complete beginner or delving into more advanced grades/difficulties, as I'm sure we could make improvements rather quickly. I welcome mistakes in my lessons as a necessary factor of piano and music training, simply resulting in specified exercises for you to work on before your next lesson. We would choose specific exercises and in-class work to strengthen your weaknesses - reasonably quickly when done consistently! I have found this accuracy is most effective at suiting the needs of each student. Whether you struggle with music theory, phrasing, playing technique, tempo etc etc, we'll be able to help your issues in a welcoming yet attentive working environment.
