Hello, I'm GenYuan Zhang, a math tutor specializing in school-level mathematics. My teaching philosophy centers on making math engaging and relatable for students. I believe in creating a supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and explore concepts. By incorporating real-life examples and interactive activities, I aim to make math enjoyable and understandable for all my students. Let's embark on a math learning journey together! I have participated in Math Olympic between my Elementary to High School times and good at mental math. I'm a quick thinker and have full score (600) for both GRE and GMAT logic and math tests. I had my Master in Math Finance and worked as an option trader / market maker in Chicago after graduation. I'd like to teach my students how to do mental math without writing on paper quickly and effectively.

As a Math tutor for school students, my teaching approach is engaging, creative, motivational, patient, and practical. I tailor lessons to each student's learning pace, ensuring concepts are fully understood. I conduct short, frequent quizzes to master specific topics. Using a pen tab, I solve problems step-by-step on a virtual whiteboard for better visualization. I highlight common mistakes and offer alternative problem-solving methods to enhance understanding. My goal is to make learning Math enjoyable and effective for my students. I'd like to guide students through real and typical example for each method. Picking one or two questions in each category and show them the method, instead of repeat questions after questions which is a waste of their valuable time. If students are having difficulties in each method, we'd emphasize on that particular method.
