Practical and empathetic French tutor with an adaptable and interactive teaching style

Hi, my name is Luis Reyes, it's nice to meet you. I'm a foreign language instructor with 4 plus years experience of teaching and tutoring, including other related areas such as translating and interpreting. While English and Spanish are my native languages, in my academic preparation I have learned other languages such as French, German, and Russian. The main reason why I love teaching is that I learn a lot from new people, and that I like to help them reach a better understanding of the language they are mastering, because learning a new language is like acquiring a new soul. I also enjoy playing the piano, writing music, theatre, films, weightlifting, and hiking.

I speak English, Spanish, and French, all of which I have taught in the classroom and in virtual settings, and I also know intermediate German. I have direct experience with students of all ages who are just starting out, as well as those who have been a few years in the game and are in the process of obtaining their B1 or B2 proficiency level. I like to focus equally on all aspects of the language: vocabulary, phonetics, and grammar, as they all contribute to mastering a language. I teach in a friendly "neutral" way, and I'm very adaptable and good at determining what works and what doesn't, doing my best to make sure that students' needs are being met. I can adapt a very casual, conversational style of teaching, as well as a more academic and rigorous approach.
