Professional Overview I am Abhishek Chandarana, a practicing architect, academician, and international award-winning specialist in sustainable spatial development. Holding a Master’s degree in International Architectural Regeneration and Development (IARD) from Oxford Brookes University, UK, my work bridges the gap between high-level theoretical concepts and practical, real-world execution. My Teaching - Regeneration as a Mindset Rather than treating design as a process starting on a blank slate (tabula rasa), I teach students to analyze existing urban and cultural layers. My specialization in IARD guides my approach to helping students identify the value in adaptive reuse, historic contexts, and vulnerable ecosystems. I encourage them to ask fundamental questions: What is the narrative of this place? How can our intervention add social and environmental value without erasing identity? -Fostering International Competitiveness Architecture is increasingly globalized. I strive to build my students' confidence so they can present, critique, and compete on an international stage. Studio 1: Cultural & Spatial Expression (Music Repository) Outcome: Students learned how to synthesize sensory experience with structural logic, developing complex public buildings that responded seamlessly to both their urban fabric and user acoustics. Studio 2: Large-Scale Urban & Civic Infrastructure (Maritime Museum) Outcome: This studio required students to balance technical systems (such as large-span structures and climate control for sensitive exhibits) with a compelling architectural narrative tied to maritime heritage and coastal ecology.
