My piano teaching methodology is rooted in building a strong technical foundation while nurturing musical expression and confidence. I place a strong emphasis on proper technique from the start—focusing on hand positioning, finger strength, posture, wrist movement, and overall body alignment to support healthy and effective piano playing. Each student follows a structured, progressive path based on their individual needs, age, and learning style. I incorporate well-established piano methods such as Faber Piano Adventures, Alfred’s Basic Piano Library, Bastien Piano Basics, and John Thompson’s Easiest Piano Course to ensure students receive a well-rounded musical education. These materials provide engaging, pedagogically sound instruction in areas such as note reading, rhythm, dynamics, phrasing, and music theory. Alongside method books, I include technical exercises like Hanon, Czerny, and scale/arpeggio practice to develop dexterity, precision, and fluency at the keyboard. Sight-reading, ear training, and rhythmic drills are also part of each student’s routine, helping to build musicianship skills that go beyond playing pieces accurately. For students interested in improvisation, chord progressions, and playing by ear, I gradually introduce functional harmony and lead sheet interpretation.
