My teaching philosophy is based on the belief that education should empower students to think critically, solve real-world problems, and confidently apply knowledge in professional practice. With more than fifteen years of experience as a Registered Architect, construction project manager, Associate Professor, and Head of the Department of Architecture, I have learned that students benefit most when theory is closely connected to industry practice. My teaching is student-centred and focuses on experiential learning through discussions, case studies, collaborative projects, and problem-based activities. By drawing on my professional experience across residential, commercial, institutional, hospitality, and industrial projects, I help students understand how concepts are applied in areas such as project management, sustainability, leadership, and decision-making. I believe every student has unique strengths and should learn in an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and confidence. My role is to mentor students through constructive feedback, open communication, and continuous guidance. Assessment should emphasise practical application, critical thinking, teamwork, and reflective learning rather than theoretical knowledge alone. Above all, I aim to develop ethical, innovative, and socially responsible graduates who can adapt to changing professional environments, embrace lifelong learning, and make meaningful contributions to their organisations and communities.
