Subhajit - Know your tutor
Hi, first and foremost, a big thank you for visiting my profile. I'm Subhajit, a recent PhD graduate in Mathematics from McMaster University, Ontario, Canada. If you are looking to get help with high school, SAT, GED and university-level Math concepts, assignments and exams, please do not hesitate to contact me. I can teach you how to think independently and solve problems in Calculus, Linear Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Abstract Algebra, Topology and Analysis in an engaging way. I have taught four full courses at McMaster, with an average class size of 350 students. During my PhD, I also held tutorials and provided one-on-one private tutoring lessons. This has enabled me to have one-on-one interactions with my students during office hours, helping them understand concepts and solve problems. Spending almost twelve years in academia and seeing my professors teach, has made me very passionate and interested in teaching. The aspect that I can share my knowledge and help you, is one of the reasons I like teaching. Apart from this, I am an occasional photographer, an avid reader of detective novels, and a die-hard fan of Harry Potter! I like to go on hikes whenever my Canadian weather allows me to do it. FC Barcelona is the club of my life in football, and I am a passionate supporter of the Indian National Cricket Team. I hope to see you on the other side of the webcam! Thank you very much. You will not regret it.

Class overview
My lessons are always tuned to your needs. If you say that you don't need an explanation of the theory of a topic and just want to solve problems, I will help you with that. All the same, I usually make sure that you have a good understanding of a topic. Having a good grasp of concepts will help you to think independently. At the end of the lesson, I want you to feel confident in solving problems independently. Problem-solving becomes fun and easy once you have a hold of the concept. A typical lesson with me might follow the following structure: --- Talk about theory with examples to help you understand the concepts efficiently. --- Solve problems to fine-tune the understanding and try to obliterate exam fear. --- Solve out-of-the-box problems to have a better scope, if possible. But of course, it is flexible to your needs, as I have mentioned before! I always believe in discussion-style teaching. You will occasionally find that I will navigate through a concept or a problem by asking you to think about the building blocks. I always encourage you to ask questions. It makes lessons engaging and efficient. When I teach you, I try to put myself in your shoes. I consider my undergraduate days, as a student trying to have a brain hurricane about new concepts. That makes me realize that even though a certain topic is easy for me, it may not be easy for you as a first-time learner. This makes me patient and helps me tune the lesson in a way that is efficiently navigated.
