About your science tutor
Hello! I'm Cherubim Dycausing, a passionate Science educator with over 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I hold a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Biological Science and have completed all academic requirements and passed the comprehensive examination for the Master of Arts in Science Teaching (Biology). I specialize in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Physical Science, and Biochemistry. Over the years, I have taught students from primary school to university level, both in the classroom and through online platforms. One of the most rewarding parts of my career has been working with students from different countries and cultural backgrounds. I have tutored learners following various curricula, including Cambridge, IGCSE, IB, Singapore MOE, American, Australian, and other int'l programs. I believe that Science becomes much more enjoyable when students truly understand the concepts rather than simply memorize facts. That's why I focus on making lessons clear, engaging, and relevant to everyday life. I encourage students to ask questions, think critically, and develop confidence in their ability to solve problems independently. Every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to match each learner's needs, pace, and goals. Whether you're preparing for an exam, working on assignments, strengthening your foundation in Science, or tackling advanced topics, I'm here to help you. My goal is not only to help students achieve better grades but also to inspire curiosity, build scientific thinking, and develop a lifelong appreciation for learning. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, & growing into confident learners.

School Science concepts taught by Cherubim
The session covered technical troubleshooting to enable video communication, followed by an in-depth review of elementary math concepts. The student practiced counting, comparing quantities, number patterns, and a significant focus was placed on understanding and applying number bonds through various visual exercises. Homework was assigned involving matching numbers to form sums and completing coloring activities.
Number Bonds
One More Than / One Less Than
Comparing Quantities (More Than / Fewer Than)
Numerals vs. Number Words
The Student and Tutor reviewed basic number concepts, including counting, spelling numbers 1-10, comparing numbers using 'less than,' 'greater than,' and 'equals' symbols, and completing number patterns. They also practiced drawing objects to match numerical quantities and identifying 'more' or 'fewer' in comparisons. Homework was assigned to continue practicing drawing and the 'one more than' and 'one less than' concepts.
