About your music teacher
Hey, I'm Raine, I teach music production with a focus on creativity, clarity, and confidence. Whether you’re brand new to Logic Pro or a songwriter wanting to shape your own demos, I offer artist-first coaching that meets you where you are. I’ve worked with musicians from early studio days to national tours, across genres like rock, R&B, pop, hip-hop, and more. I’m especially passionate about helping beginners and women feel empowered, safe, and independent in the production space. I’ve vocal coached artists in-studio, solved issues other engineers missed, and earned trust from Grammy-winning pros for my ear. But most importantly—I care. I listen deeply, keep things real (never harsh), and help you build both skill and self-trust. Sessions are fully tailored to you and your goals. As an artist myself, I get it. Let’s make your ideas sound like you.

Music lessons at a glance
My approach to teaching music production is built on celebration, trust, and curiosity. I check in regularly with my students, not just about their technical progress but about how they're feeling—because the best music comes when you feel safe enough to push past your perceived limitations. My students open up with me easily, and that openness often leads to breakthrough moments, both creatively and personally. Nearly everyone I’ve worked with has told me I’m a natural teacher—and it’s clear I love it. I’m a total nerd about both the big picture and the fine details. Want to understand not just how to use EQ, but why it works the way it does? Or what compression really means? I’ve explained these concepts in a way that even my completely non-musical mom found fascinating—and understood. That said, feeling comes first. I’ll teach you how to trust your ears and your heart. Thinking is important—but overthinking can get in the way of making great music. I’m not here to produce your music for you. I’m here to help you become confident, independent, and inspired—someone who can take a raw idea and bring it to life without getting stuck. I organize notes and materials into a shared Google Drive folder after each lesson, so you always have a record of what we covered. In our first session, I typically walk you through how to route audio from your DAW into Google Meet or Zoom—because I know how annoying that tech setup can be when you’re just getting started. And finally—I don’t gatekeep. I’m plugged into the music industry and always on the hunt for great tools, plug-ins, and resources. If I find a free synth or a good deal on a plug-in, I’ll share it. I'm not here just to teach or to make money—I’m here to see you win.

Student and Tutor worked on improving guitar technique, including proper thumb placement and a new hand-stretching exercise. They practiced improvisation using the A minor pentatonic scale over a backing track, focusing on melodic repetition and variation. The session also covered essential guitar maintenance, specifically the correct use of fine tuners and nut locks for optimal tuning.

Left Hand Stretching for Fretboard Mobility
Proper Thumb Placement for Riff Speed
1-2-4 Fretboard Stretching Exercise
Tuning Guitars with Locking Nuts (Fine Tuners)
The Student and Tutor discussed the Student's current guitar practice, including challenges with chord transitions in "Hey Joe" and D minor fingering. The Tutor introduced bar chords based on E and A shapes, explaining their construction and fretboard application, and provided tips on hand positioning. They also covered guitar string gauges, fret types, and the benefits of integrating singing with instrumental practice to enhance learning.

Student and Tutor discussed bass guitar techniques and practiced basslines from 'Feel Good Inc.' by Gorillaz, 'The Chain' by Fleetwood Mac, and 'Hella Good' by No Doubt. They focused on muting, sliding, and right-hand dexterity, and reviewed tuning concepts and the A minor scale. The Student received homework to continue practicing the discussed songs and techniques.

Bass Muting Techniques
The Student and Tutor focused on guitar strumming patterns, dissecting popular songs like "A Horse with No Name" and "Ring of Fire" to understand their rhythmic structure. They practiced identifying and executing bass note strums, along with various down and up strum combinations using visual diagrams and verbal counting. The Tutor provided several chord diagrams and a finger dexterity exercise for the Student to practice, emphasizing the use of a metronome or timing apps for homework.

The Student and Tutor continued their guitar lesson, focusing on refining specific riffs from "Carry On Wayward Son," including precise slide and hammer-on techniques. They also explored a new concept: double stops, inspired by Jimi Hendrix, and were introduced to foundational funk guitar techniques, such as note muting to create rhythmic space. The plan is to continue working on both rock and funk styles in future sessions.
