My name is Jonna Mae Dela Cruz, and I am a passionate and dedicated English teacher with a TESOL certificate that qualifies me to teach beginner learners, young professionals, and adult students from different backgrounds. Teaching English is more than just a job for me; it is a vocation that allows me to inspire, guide, and empower learners as they develop their language skills and confidence. I believe that learning English should be meaningful, enjoyable, and practical. Many students feel nervous or unsure when studying a new language, so I always strive to create a positive and supportive classroom environment. In my classes, students are encouraged to speak freely, ask questions, and make mistakes without fear of judgment. I strongly believe that mistakes are an essential part of learning, and each one is an opportunity for growth and improvement. My teaching style is interactive, flexible, and student-centered. I design my lessons to suit the level, goals, and learning pace of each student. I use engaging discussions, guided conversations, real-life situations, and simple explanations to help students understand lessons clearly. I aim to make every class both informative and enjoyable so students stay motivated and excited to learn. One of my greatest joys as a teacher is seeing my students grow. Watching them improve their pronunciation, expand their vocabulary, and speak with more confidence is incredibly fulfilling. I especially love seeing their smiles during our discussions, as it shows that they are comfortable, engaged, and enjoying the learning process. These moments remind me why I chose to become a teacher and motivate me to continually improve my teaching skills.

My teaching methodology is learner-centered, communicative, and adaptive to the needs of my students. I believe that learning is most effective when students feel comfortable, motivated, and actively involved in the lesson. I integrate the Communicative Language Teaching approach, focusing on developing students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills through practical use of the language rather than rote memorization. Lessons are structured but flexible, allowing me to adjust pacing and activities based on students’ proficiency levels and learning styles. I also use visual aids, multimedia resources, and task-based activities to enhance understanding and maintain engagement. Assessment in my classes is both formative and supportive. I provide regular feedback to help students recognize their strengths and areas for improvement. Most importantly, I strive to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident to express themselves, ask questions, and grow academically and personally.
