About your engineering tutor

Hello! My name is Jeremy and I am happy to be of help for engineering and STEM students looking for a little more help with their studies. The subject matter can be tough, but I am excited to utilize a combination of my experiences and the latest available technology to deliver lessons tailored to the individual. My experience lies primarily with mechanical engineering and topics within biomedical engineering, with more than 8 years of college and employment in those fields. However, I am also fluent in general mathematics and sciences up to the advanced collegiate level. Engineering, Math, Sciences - the STEM subjects are all connected. In our lessons, I will focus primarily on grasping the foundations and understanding the fundamentals, supplemented with practice problems. A big part of engineering and STEM is repetition, but it also doesn't have to involve too much suffering! In fact, having fun is the greatest goal for any teacher for their student. If you're going to remember something, what better way than simply liking the subject! (Even a little helps)

My teaching methodology for STEM tutoring emphasizes conceptual mastery, problem-solving, and student confidence. I begin by assessing a student’s current understanding and misconceptions, then break complex topics into clear, logical steps. Lessons focus on why formulas and methods work, not just how to apply them. I use guided practice, real-world examples, and progressively challenging problems to reinforce learning. Students are encouraged to ask questions and explain their reasoning, building critical thinking skills. I regularly adapt pacing and strategies based on feedback, ensuring lessons are engaging, efficient, and aligned with academic goals. I also emphasize study habits, test strategies, and independent practice so students develop long-term academic skills beyond tutoring sessions, building confidence and academic independence.
