I am a dedicated, patient and encouraging tutor with over 2 years experience in both teaching English as a foreign language and helping English native school students to elevate their English skills. Any level is welcome, as are any ages (I have taught students from ages 9-40+). My teaching style is relaxed, however targets and goals are still met. Often students are not confident in themselves or their abilities, so I will boost this in addition to their actual English skills and level. It's important for students to trust their intuition and feel comfortable expressing themselves so this is a high priority for me. The classroom environment itself is always positive, warm and full of smiles. My specialities lie in spelling and punctuation, as well as real-world application of language, pronunciation and useful phrases & idioms. Through real-life examples, visual aids and [mostly] speaking activities, I can help to improve students language level, improve their grades or even help to prepare for tests. Most of all, I think it is important to base most of my lessons on speaking as I am a firm believer that practice makes perfect. The lessons are therefore extremely interactive and also upbeat without a dull moment. I encourage my students to do most of the talking and the learning environment that I cultivate allows them to do this with ease and confidence. I often use worksheets and visual aids to hone in on certain techniques as well as often using reading & listening comprehension to ensure understanding. I teach students of all levels from absolute beginners to advanced students who potentially want to include native idioms or perfect their accent/pronunciation. I set goals with my students and strive towards achieving them in a realistic way. All of my lessons are personalised to each individual in addition to their personal interests, hobbies etc. This way a bond and trust can be formed and can also help to pique their interest if the lesson topic is potentially tedious for them.
