Class overview

My work explores how technology can be harnessed to design architecture that is not only innovative, but also sustainable for the future. I encourage students to embrace the diverse tools of architectural design technology—from parametric modeling to wind analysis softwares—as a catalyst for creating smarter and more sustainable architecture. My personalized tutoring approach blends strategical design thinking, engaging activities, concept development and project based learning to offer dynamic and effictive Architecture, Autocad, Interior design and Sketchup modelling and Lumion rendering training. Leveraging a mix of online tools like Sketchup, Aitocad,Zoom and Bitpaper, I create interactive lessons that cater to English college students at an advanced level. By following a structured curriculum, I ensure that students receive comprehensive training that not only enhances their skills but also fosters creativity and critical thinking.

The student and tutor worked on AutoCAD layout settings, viewport creation and manipulation, and several modify commands (stretch, scale, fillet). The student learned to set up different paper sizes, create and edit viewports, and modify object geometry using the modify commands. The tutor will share short keys and plans for practice.

The Tutor guided the Student on advanced AutoCAD techniques, including creating plot sheets, grouping objects, and using blocks for efficient design modifications. The Student practiced creating viewports and setting plot scales. The Tutor will share files and blocks for further practice, and the Student scheduled another session for continued learning.

The Tutor guided the Student through the initial steps of using AutoCAD to draft a floor plan. They covered essential commands like line, offset, trim, hatch, and dimensioning and how to create and manage layers to control the appearance of different elements. The student will practice these commands and experiment with creating different plan options and the Tutor will provide a block library for doors and windows.

The Student reviewed the AutoCAD interface and drawing tools and practiced basic commands. The session covered setting units, creating blocks, using layers, and modifying objects. The tutor suggested that the Student download AutoCAD and practice drawing basic shapes and using modification tools before the next session, where they will begin drafting a plan.

The Student and Tutor collaborated to finalize a landscape design project, focusing on detailed enhancements to a cross-section using Photoshop and creating 3D visualizations with SketchUp. The session involved adding realistic elements, adjusting environmental settings, and exporting images for presentation. The Student will use the finalized files to prepare their presentation.

The session involved refining an urban design plan and section drawing, focusing on accuracy and visual clarity. The Student addressed issues in the master plan and collaborated with the Tutor on the section drawing's elements and dimensions. The next step involves adding finishing touches and details to the section in Photoshop.
