Supportive ESL & English tutor with a creative teaching style

Hi, I am Althea, a dedicated ESL teacher with 7 years of experience in 1-on-1 teaching. I have done a PhD in English. I have experience in teaching ESL, English Literature, English Writing, Academic English, Essay Writing, and Creative Writing. I have been speaking this language since childhood and am well-versedteaching journey with it. My journey into teaching began when I discovered the joy of connecting with diverse minds through language. Holding a degree in English Literature, my passion ignited in college where I found solace in the magic of words. My approach is friendly, interactive, and designed to accommodate various learning styles. With a passion for fostering effective communication, my classes are tailored to cater to diverse language levels.

My teaching methodology is completely based on active learning. I try to create more and more conversation with the students which makes them feel comfortable speaking which affects their writing skills too. I like to have interactive sessions which involve asking questions. I randomly take some topic that the student might like and have a short debate on it. I provide them with assignments and tests. I make sure I bring facts to the table with the same enthusiasm and clarity each time I teach the same topic. I make sure to test their understanding with assessments and tests. I explain things 100 times even if there is a bit of confusion!
