Hey, my name is Nick. I am here as your English speaking partner. Having a session with me means having a real conversation. You won't just be learning English. You'll be connecting with another person! You get better at asking questions, explaining, share stories and listening. I like to keep things simple and friendly. My accent is mainly American, even though I come from northern Europe. For our sessions we can go into topics you care about. Or something else for you to also learn new things. As a person I am very patient. During my time living abroad I help locals improve their English. I have a professional background in government, ecommerce, website creation, hospitality, elementary school, cruise ships, and amusement parks. My studies cover many university subjects, and I have spent years living in multiple countries and cultures. My online teaching experience is <1 year, but during my time abroad I have helped local people improve their English. My approach to teaching is patience and practice. Learning a new language comes easier when you try to share knowledge and explain an idea. For example: why is that fruit your favorite? How did you learn that skill? What do you think is the reason for the shape of clouds? (Depending on what we are talking about.) As your speaking partner I am openminded, patient and do not judge. My cultural experience from around the world and studies allows me to appreciate differences between people and places. You are free to speak your mind without worry. Our conversations can be personal, go deep into subjects you have studied, already know and do as part of work, or be open-ended to allow more free speaking. Personally, I am curious and really like to get to know new people to learn new insights and how they think. With that, I am looking forward to meeting you.
