English Tutor with over 7 Years' experience with TESOL and CELTA qualifications, as well as Certificate in Education Support

I am an English tutor based in Melbourne, Australia, with over 7 years' experience teaching students of all ages, ranging from pre- and primary school age through to adult learners. I have a CELTA certificate and Master of TESOL International, and have worked as a professional writer and editor in print and online media. I have also completed a Certificate in Education Support at Monash University. I take a tailored approach to each student's learning, taking into account factors such as additional needs and ESL/EAL background. I also take time to get to know each student's strengths and weaknesses, and try to make each lesson enjoyable based on the personal areas of interest for each student. I have coached students in the areas of: - Vocabulary building - Essay writing - Reading comprehension - Pronunciation Students I have taught have demonstrated increased interest and confidence in their English learning as I cater to their personal goals.

I create and adjust lesson plans for each individual student, based on interactive discussions, creative writing exercises, vocabulary building, and reading comprehension questions. I am familiar with the Australian English and EAL curricula and also have experience with various phonics programs, including Jolly Phonics and Letterland. I am comfortable using Google Meet and other online platforms to facilitate learning. I build confidence in each student by getting to understand their personal interests and goals, and assist each student at a pace that suits them best, while still providing enough challenge to help them move forward. I demonstrate use of vocabulary by using target words in various sentences, ensuring the word is understood in its proper context. I also correct and guide students where possible, and allow the student to practice what they have learned as much as possible.
