Engaging NAPLAN and SAT Math lessons

The Student and Tutor practiced adding and subtracting fractions with differing denominators. The session focused on finding the least common multiple (LCM) and using it to correctly calculate numerators. Additional practice problems were assigned, and the next session was scheduled.

The student practiced solving systems of linear equations using elimination and substitution and worked on word problems related to these concepts. They also reviewed solving quadratic equations using the quadratic formula. The next session will include a review of the student's test paper and further work on matrix algebra and basic geometry.

The Tutor guided the Student through solving quadratic equations using the quadratic formula and discriminant. The Student practiced these skills, working on several example problems and receiving feedback on their solutions. Additionally, the class covered solving systems of linear equations with two variables using elimination and framing equations from word problems, with more practice planned for the next session.

The Student learned about properties of exponents and practiced simplifying expressions using these rules. The session also covered solving inequalities, focusing on how the inequality sign changes when multiplying or dividing by a negative number. The Tutor assigned additional practice problems which will be reviewed in the next session.

The session reviewed various math concepts, including fractions, absolute value, percentages, probability, and statistics (mean, median, mode, range). The student practiced solving problems related to these topics, as well as linear equations. A test was scheduled for the next session covering the material from the last few lessons.

The Student and Tutor reviewed function composition and linear equations, then focused on practicing order of operations (BODMAS) and simplifying fractional expressions. The Student worked through several practice problems applying these concepts. The session concluded with an overview of exponents, roots, absolute values, factors/multiples, ratios/proportions/percentages, and probability. Homework was assigned on BODMAS.
