Singing concept taught by Daniela
Daniela worked with Maria on vocal techniques to reduce tension and improve her singing. They explored head and chest voice placement, practiced warm-up and cool-down exercises, and worked on a song, focusing on breath control and emotional expression. Maria was assigned homework to practice the "Hey, hey, hey" exercise with a crying sound and to continue working on the song with bubbles, paying attention to tension and volume.

Daniela guided a learner from First Colony through vocal exercises aimed at enhancing their performance of "Break My Heart" by Dua Lipa. The lesson concentrated on humming and vocalizing to pinpoint the correct tones and pitches, especially the lower notes in the song. With Daniela's guidance, the individual diligently practiced tone and pitch control.

Daniela led a student from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro through vocal exercises, focusing on breath control, vocal placement, and register transitions. They then applied these techniques to a song performance. The learner specifically worked on reducing throat constriction and improving their mixed voice. For the next lesson, the student will prepare new song options, concentrating on pieces with slightly higher registers to continue expanding their vocal range, and Daniela will review the songs sent.

Devory worked with a Hope Valley singer on vocal techniques to reduce pain and tension, focusing on tongue exercises, vocal placement, and reducing vocal "mass." They explored the concept of "twang" and practiced accessing a more relaxed "opera voice" to minimize strain. For homework, the singer was assigned to practice the 'oo' and 'E' sounds to find a comfortable head voice and will receive an opera melody to practice.

Daniela focused with a Plaza Midwood resident on vocal technique, addressing tension and cracking in their voice while singing "Can't Help Falling in Love." The individual practiced exercises to relax their jaw and neck, and worked on vocalizing specific phrases in both higher and lower octaves. For the next lesson, they were assigned to practice the song from beginning to end in both their higher and lower voices.
