About your vocal coach
I'm Connor Terrell, and I have been teaching voice for just about four years now and have a huge amount of experience mentoring and performing alike. Though my foundation is in classical vocal technique, I can teach and adapt this to a variety of styles, including pop, jazz, rock Broadway, and more! I can teach a variety of skill levels and age groups be they just getting started in the world of music, maybe sang a bit in high school but just got away from it for a bit, or a seasoned pro! Each course will include music theory instruction, ear training, vocal technique, and more as we dive into the material that you decide. The lessons are tailored not only to your skill level but also your interests, as above all, my goal is to help you reach your goals and nurture your passion for music. So what are you waiting for? Let's unlock your musical potential and make some music together!

Singing lessons overview
Each voice is unique, and no singer is the same. There are techniques that are standard, but ultimately, I let the student be my guide. Music also has a lot of tough concepts to grasp, however, so I have a variety of ways of breaking down even the most complex of concepts to even the youngest of learners. A lot of what we will learn will be through the songs we decide to learn, as many concepts can be taught through simply learning a song. However. vocal exercises are also a key factor in my lessons. We'll spend just as much time vocalizing and exercising the vocal folds as we will diving into each individual pitch, lyric, and beat. It is through this vocalization that we will break down vocal techniques such as proper breath support, tone, placement, and even ear training. We will then apply these concepts, of course, to the repertoire that we are learning. My lessons focus on personalized and interactive learning that best fits YOU, as no two singers are exactly the same.

Singing concept taught by Connor
Connor Terrell gave Bessie a voice lesson, conducted over the phone due to technical difficulties, focusing on vocal warm-ups and refining her performance of "Across Endless Dimensions," with specific attention to vowel pronunciation and high note support. Connor introduced the concepts of head and chest voice and suggested exploring art songs and arias. He assigned practice and will send a new karaoke track, and Bessie will contact tech support to resolve the meeting issues.

Connor Terrell and Alex James addressed technical issues, conducted vocal warm-ups focusing on resonance and breath support, and analyzed Alex's recording of "Danny Boy." They then shifted to "Wither Must I Wander," addressing breath control, rhythm, and phrasing. Connor assigned Alex to learn the middle and latter parts of "Wither Must I Wander" using provided resources.

Connor Terrell gave Alex James a singing lesson that included reviewing breath control and high notes from a previous song, and then focusing on pitch, resonance, rhythm, and pronunciation in a new song. Alex informed Connor that they would be discontinuing lessons due to financial constraints.
