Ashlen 's emphasis on pop progressions and improvisation enabled me to abandon the "box" attitude. her gradual encouragement made it feel easy, expressive, and most importantly, enjoyable to solo over actual tunes. My guitar playing was really improved by her teachings.

Taking guitar lessons with Ashlen in Gateway turned out to be a amazing experience. Initially it was not that easy but I have become completely changed by playing. Her instruction covers popular tunes adapted for guitar along with fingerpicking skills. Interestingly she even incorporated some music principles from The Beatles when she noticed my appreciation for older music. It's been an absolute joy.

Even in a creative neighborhood like Melrose Hill, I struggled to find a teacher who focused on musicality rather than just mechanics. Ashlen de Armero completely changed my mindset. Ashlen ’s lessons emphasized expression, and within a few months, I had the confidence to post my first complete guitar performance online.
