Yu-heng - About your AP tutor
I have graduated from UConn on December, 2023, with a major in Mathematics & Statistics. Now I am a member of the United States National STEM Honor Society, as the Director of Analytics. On weekends, I teach some students about advanced computer class at New York City. I worked at UConn Quantitative Learning Center for 1 year, teaching students college level Mathematics & Statistics courses. When I was at college, my major GPA was 3.89/4.00. I also got full point in GRE Quantitative part (170/170). I have good knowledge in statistics (probability theory; statistical data analysis; mathematical statistics; statistical programming; etc.). I am also very proficient in SQL & Python & R & Excel.

Teaching methodology
My previous and current students include high school advanced level students and students from University of Connecticut (which is a member of "public ivy league schools"). During teaching, I would like to see students' engagement. I tried to make a session like a conversation instead of a monlogue. I prefer to give clear instructions to my students, usually in the format of bullet points.

AP concepts taught by Yu-heng
The Student's trigonometry work was reviewed, focusing on proving identities and solving equations. The Tutor provided feedback on the Student's methods and calculations, pointing out areas for improvement and suggesting alternative approaches. The session concluded with the Tutor providing links to review videos.
Compound Angle Identities
Double Angle Identities
Proving Trigonometric Identities
Solving Trigonometric Equations
Odd and Even Identities
Using the Unit Circle
Yu-heng assisted Pablo in reviewing trigonometry concepts, including unit circle problems, trigonometric functions, and problem-solving techniques for a unit test review. They worked through practice problems and real-world applications, focusing on identifying and correcting mistakes. They plan to review the next unit next weekend.
Inverse Trigonometric Functions
Degree to Radian Conversion
Reciprocal Trigonometric Identities
Undefined Trigonometric Values
Trigonometric Periodicity
Angle of Depression
Yu-heng assisted Pablo in preparing for his trigonometry test. They reviewed the unit circle, trigonometric identities (specifically sin²θ + cos²θ = 1), the sine rule, set theory, and transformations, including shear transformations. Yu-heng corrected Pablo's errors and reinforced key concepts.
Shear Transformations
Sine Rule
Set Theory - Operations
Transformations - Rotations
Transformations - Translations
Tangent Value
Sine and Cosine Relationships
Unit Circle
Special Right Triangles
Shear Factor
Shear Factor with Invariant Line
Stretch Transformation
Describing Transformations
Trigonometric Functions Transformation
Inverse Trigonometric Functions
Yu-heng tutored Pablo in circle geometry, reviewing theorems and proofs. Pablo's work was analyzed to identify errors and reinforce understanding of inscribed angles, tangent lines, and the alternate segment theorem. The session emphasized logical understanding over memorization.
Alternate Segment Theorem
Congruent Triangles in Kite
Opposite Angles in Cyclic Quadrilateral
Angle at the Center Theorem
Angles in the Same Segment Theorem
Tangent and Radius
Isosceles Triangles from Radii
Perpendicular Bisector of a Chord
