About your tutor
I am Vikramaditya Shah Bundela, an architect specialising in architectural design, conservation, and AI integration. With experience across three firms, I have developed diverse skills, from designing and preserving structures to training AI models for architectural applications. Teaching is a passion of mine—I have mentored students and professionals worldwide, both independently and through an architecture education startup. I am proficient in 11+ design tools, including Revit, SketchUp, Rhino 3d, and Autocad Architecture, Photoshop, InDesign, Lumion, D5 Render, Twinmotion and more. I focus on optimising architectural workflows using AI. My dissertation explored AI-driven design automation, and I continue to push the boundaries of technology in the AEC industry. I know 50+ AI tools and always strive to teach the easiest workflow possible.

Class overview
My teaching methodology is centred around interactive, two-way engagement, where I encourage students to actively participate and share their insights—I often learn from them as well. I believe in project-based learning and teach accordingly. I think that students should learn by doing and not just watching tutorials. I focus on teaching the most efficient and optimised workflows for architectural software, ensuring students gain practical expertise that enhances their professional capabilities. My approach emphasises hands-on learning, catering to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced professionals. I challenge students to push their boundaries, refine their skills, and strive for excellence. Teaching is a continuous learning experience for me, and my passion lies in exploring emerging tools and innovations that shape the future of architectural design.

Architecture concepts taught by Vikramaditya Shah
The Tutor and Student worked on drawing a symmetric object in AutoCAD, focusing on utilizing symmetry, layers, and mirroring commands for efficient design. They also explored the `fill-it` and `trim` commands, and discussed using AI tools for step-by-step guidance on AutoCAD tasks. The next session is planned for Monday at 4:30 PM.
Fillet Command for Rounded Corners
Understanding Line Weights and Visibility
Symmetry and Mirroring in Design
Layer Management in AutoCAD
The session involved advanced SketchUp modeling techniques, focusing on precise component alignment, efficient duplication, and material application. The tutor guided the student through creating custom paint materials using RGB values and demonstrated advanced push-pull functionalities. Future sessions will delve deeper into material creation and texture mapping.
Precision in 3D Modeling: Edge Visibility and Wireframe
3D Model Alignment: Rotation and Reference Points
Efficient 3D Object Duplication and Group Management
Applying and Customizing Materials in 3D Modeling
The Student and Tutor worked on advanced 3D modeling techniques in SketchUp, focusing on the "Follow Me" tool, object intersection, and precise rotation for architectural elements. They practiced creating complex moldings and integrating them with other components, planning to cover materials and plugins in future sessions.
Rotation Tool and Axis Locking
Components vs. Groups in SketchUp
Intersection of Geometry in SketchUp
Follow Me Tool in SketchUp
The tutor guided the student through various AutoCAD commands, including 'stretch,' 'offset,' 'arc,' 'trim,' and 'mirror,' to create and modify complex shapes. The student practiced drawing symmetrical objects by utilizing reference lines and mirroring techniques. The tutor emphasized the importance of practice and understanding drawing principles for efficient CAD work.

Trim Command
Offset Command
Stretch Command
AutoCAD Layers
The session focused on advanced SketchUp techniques, specifically using the 'Follow Me' tool to create crown molding and employing the 'Intersect Faces' command to accurately trim the molding to a roofline. The student practiced these modeling operations, and they discussed the principles behind geometric intersections for precise modeling.
