About your tutor
I am Vikramaditya Shah Bundela, an architect specialising in architectural design, conservation, and AI integration. With experience across three firms, I have developed diverse skills, from designing and preserving structures to training AI models for architectural applications. Teaching is a passion of mine—I have mentored students and professionals worldwide, both independently and through an architecture education startup. I am proficient in 11+ design tools, including Revit, SketchUp, Rhino 3d, and Autocad Architecture, Photoshop, InDesign, Lumion, D5 Render, Twinmotion and more. I focus on optimising architectural workflows using AI. My dissertation explored AI-driven design automation, and I continue to push the boundaries of technology in the AEC industry. I know 50+ AI tools and always strive to teach the easiest workflow possible.

Class overview
My teaching methodology is centred around interactive, two-way engagement, where I encourage students to actively participate and share their insights—I often learn from them as well. I believe in project-based learning and teach accordingly. I think that students should learn by doing and not just watching tutorials. I focus on teaching the most efficient and optimised workflows for architectural software, ensuring students gain practical expertise that enhances their professional capabilities. My approach emphasises hands-on learning, catering to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced professionals. I challenge students to push their boundaries, refine their skills, and strive for excellence. Teaching is a continuous learning experience for me, and my passion lies in exploring emerging tools and innovations that shape the future of architectural design.

Architecture concept taught by Vikramaditya Shah
Vikramaditya guided Stephanie in a SketchUp session, addressing issues with the push/pull tool, window alignment, and the creation of a sliding door and staircase. Stephanie practiced grouping, using the outliner, and employing precise snapping techniques. Vikramaditya assigned practice exercises focusing on doors, windows, stairs, and exterior grooves, and suggested exploring Lumion Vietnam for model resources, with a follow-up session scheduled for Monday.

Groups and Components
Vikramaditya mentored Stephanie on architectural modeling in SketchUp, covering door and window placement, wall intersections, and advanced tools for creating architectural elements. Stephanie practiced placing doors and windows and troubleshooting rotation issues. Vikramaditya assigned Stephanie the task of completing the first floor of her model, including doors, windows, wall panels, and a staircase, before their next session to work on the roof.

Vikramaditya assisted Anita in transitioning from SketchUp Go to SketchUp Pro and Layout, covering software installation, license acquisition, and efficient design techniques. Anita learned about 3D modeling and 2D drafting, live components, and plugins. Anita will practice basic 3D modeling in SketchUp Go while awaiting her student license, and they will continue with a collaborative house project in the next session.

Groups vs. Components
Vikramaditya Shah Bundela guided Stephanie Buzalsky in a SketchUp session focused on using the 1001 bit pro plugin to create walls, doors, windows, and a basic hip roof. Stephanie practiced creating door and window openings and constructing a roof. Vikramaditya assigned Stephanie homework to practice these techniques and will share architectural resources and a PDF on layer naming conventions, with the next class scheduled for Monday to cover all the tools in the plugin in detail.

Continuous Wall Drawing
Vikramaditya tutored Stephanie on SketchUp, covering efficient modeling practices, including scaling, organization using the Outliner, and importing/cleaning DWG files. He provided guidance on creating walls, floors, and openings using specific plugins and emphasized accurate measurements and layering. Stephanie was assigned practice exercises, and the next session is scheduled to cover plugins, staircases, contours, and rendering.

Vikramaditya trained Stephanie on a wide array of SketchUp tools and features, from basic object manipulation and shape creation to advanced techniques like dimensioning, section planes, and model optimization. They also covered model management using tags/layers, entity info, and the outliner. The plan is to move on to a project using CAD files in the next session.
