About your tutor
I am Vikramaditya Shah Bundela, an architect specialising in architectural design, conservation, and AI integration. With experience across three firms, I have developed diverse skills, from designing and preserving structures to training AI models for architectural applications. Teaching is a passion of mine—I have mentored students and professionals worldwide, both independently and through an architecture education startup. I am proficient in 11+ design tools, including Revit, SketchUp, Rhino 3d, and Autocad Architecture, Photoshop, InDesign, Lumion, D5 Render, Twinmotion and more. I focus on optimising architectural workflows using AI. My dissertation explored AI-driven design automation, and I continue to push the boundaries of technology in the AEC industry. I know 50+ AI tools and always strive to teach the easiest workflow possible.

Class overview
My teaching methodology is centred around interactive, two-way engagement, where I encourage students to actively participate and share their insights—I often learn from them as well. I believe in project-based learning and teach accordingly. I think that students should learn by doing and not just watching tutorials. I focus on teaching the most efficient and optimised workflows for architectural software, ensuring students gain practical expertise that enhances their professional capabilities. My approach emphasises hands-on learning, catering to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced professionals. I challenge students to push their boundaries, refine their skills, and strive for excellence. Teaching is a continuous learning experience for me, and my passion lies in exploring emerging tools and innovations that shape the future of architectural design.

Architecture concepts taught by Vikramaditya Shah
The Student and Tutor worked on resolving installation issues with AutoCAD Architecture and explored methods for customizing drawing scales. They focused on identifying why architectural toolsets were missing and tried various solutions, including workspace settings and file transfers. The Student will reinstall the software and contact Autodesk support to resolve licensing issues.

AutoCAD Architecture vs. AutoCAD
The Student and Tutor covered AutoCAD dimensions, dimension styles, and basic kitchen design elements. The Student practiced placing dimensions, creating custom dimension styles, and designing a basic kitchen layout using polylines and trim. The Tutor assigned the Student to complete the dimensioning and window placement on the floor plan, and they will address block scaling issues in the next session.

The student and tutor worked on resolving display and printing issues in AutoCAD, specifically related to layer properties and imported blocks affecting the appearance of walls and doors. The student learned troubleshooting techniques and best practices for managing layers and templates. The tutor provided a template file with pre-configured layers and line weights for future use.

The Student and Tutor worked on refining architectural drawings in AutoCAD, focusing on layout, scaling, and proper formatting for UK planning submissions. They addressed paper size issues, title block alignment, layer management, hatching, and dimensioning. The next session is scheduled to further refine the drawings and address remaining issues.

Importance of Drawing Standards and File Organization
The Student was introduced to AutoCAD Architecture and its advantages over standard AutoCAD for architectural drawings. The Student practiced creating walls and setting up a title block with a viewport, understanding the link between model and paper space. The homework is to replicate the layer settings from a given assignment in preparation for drafting a floor plan.

AutoCAD Architecture vs. Standard AutoCAD
The session focused on AutoCAD practice, covering drawing commands, dimensioning, and annotation. The Student worked on replicating a simple drawing and began a more complex exercise involving circles and arcs. The Tutor assigned practice exercises and requested the Student provide assignment examples for the next session, with a plan to troubleshoot UI issues and explore AutoCAD architecture for Windows.
