About your tutor
I am Vikramaditya Shah Bundela, an architect specialising in architectural design, conservation, and AI integration. With experience across three firms, I have developed diverse skills, from designing and preserving structures to training AI models for architectural applications. Teaching is a passion of mine—I have mentored students and professionals worldwide, both independently and through an architecture education startup. I am proficient in 11+ design tools, including Revit, SketchUp, Rhino 3d, and Autocad Architecture, Photoshop, InDesign, Lumion, D5 Render, Twinmotion and more. I focus on optimising architectural workflows using AI. My dissertation explored AI-driven design automation, and I continue to push the boundaries of technology in the AEC industry. I know 50+ AI tools and always strive to teach the easiest workflow possible.

Class overview
My teaching methodology is centred around interactive, two-way engagement, where I encourage students to actively participate and share their insights—I often learn from them as well. I believe in project-based learning and teach accordingly. I think that students should learn by doing and not just watching tutorials. I focus on teaching the most efficient and optimised workflows for architectural software, ensuring students gain practical expertise that enhances their professional capabilities. My approach emphasises hands-on learning, catering to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced professionals. I challenge students to push their boundaries, refine their skills, and strive for excellence. Teaching is a continuous learning experience for me, and my passion lies in exploring emerging tools and innovations that shape the future of architectural design.

Architecture concepts taught by Vikramaditya Shah
The Student was introduced to AutoCAD Architecture and its advantages over standard AutoCAD for architectural drawings. The Student practiced creating walls and setting up a title block with a viewport, understanding the link between model and paper space. The homework is to replicate the layer settings from a given assignment in preparation for drafting a floor plan.
AutoCAD Architecture vs. Standard AutoCAD
Layers and Layer Properties
Model Space vs. Paper Space (Layouts)
Controlling Object Appearance
Copying with Reference Points
The session focused on AutoCAD practice, covering drawing commands, dimensioning, and annotation. The Student worked on replicating a simple drawing and began a more complex exercise involving circles and arcs. The Tutor assigned practice exercises and requested the Student provide assignment examples for the next session, with a plan to troubleshoot UI issues and explore AutoCAD architecture for Windows.
Polyline Command (PL)
Trim Command
Offset Command
Arc Creation
Text Annotation
Dimensioning
Layers and Properties
The session covered AutoCAD template creation and best practices for plotting and printing drawings. The Student learned about customizing title blocks, managing layers, and different approaches for scaling drawings. The Tutor shared resources and alternative workflows, including working primarily in model space for simplified printing.
Units Consistency in AutoCAD
Using Scale Bars in Planning Drawings
Model Space vs. Paper Space
Creating Templates for Drawings
Using ISO Full Bleed Paper Sizes
Drawing and Scaling in Model Space
Drawing Lists Table
The Tutor guided the Student through various AutoCAD techniques, including line manipulation, dimension adjustments, room labeling, elevation creation, and printing. The session focused on refining drawing accuracy, text management, and final presentation. The Student is expected to practice these techniques and upload their files for review before the next scheduled class, where they will cover scale lines and north points.
Trim and Extend Commands
Moving Objects with Stretch Command
Labeling with Text (Single vs. Multi-line)
Controlling Object Visibility with Layers
Customizing Dimension Appearance (Dimension Styles)
Drawing Elevations with Xlines and Rotation
Understanding Paper Space and Model Space for Printing
The Student and Tutor covered basic AutoCAD commands related to drawing and modifying objects, including lines, polylines, circles, rectangles, arcs, and hatch patterns. The Student practiced using these commands and learned about object selection, layers, and properties. The tutor assigned an exercise file for practice and scheduled the next session.
Line and Polyline Commands
Selection Methods: Blue vs. Green
Construction Lines (XLINE)
Hatch Command: Patterns and Associativity
Match Properties Command
Groups versus Blocks
Fillet Command: Connecting Lines and Creating Curves
The student practiced modifying an architectural drawing in AutoCAD, focusing on precise adjustments to doors, windows, and walls. They worked on dimensioning, moving objects, changing window styles, and merging/extending walls. The student plans to continue working on the layout and will have another session on Tuesday.
