About your tutor
I am Vikramaditya Shah Bundela, an architect specialising in architectural design, conservation, and AI integration. With experience across three firms, I have developed diverse skills, from designing and preserving structures to training AI models for architectural applications. Teaching is a passion of mine—I have mentored students and professionals worldwide, both independently and through an architecture education startup. I am proficient in 11+ design tools, including Revit, SketchUp, Rhino 3d, and Autocad Architecture, Photoshop, InDesign, Lumion, D5 Render, Twinmotion and more. I focus on optimising architectural workflows using AI. My dissertation explored AI-driven design automation, and I continue to push the boundaries of technology in the AEC industry. I know 50+ AI tools and always strive to teach the easiest workflow possible.

Class overview
My teaching methodology is centred around interactive, two-way engagement, where I encourage students to actively participate and share their insights—I often learn from them as well. I believe in project-based learning and teach accordingly. I think that students should learn by doing and not just watching tutorials. I focus on teaching the most efficient and optimised workflows for architectural software, ensuring students gain practical expertise that enhances their professional capabilities. My approach emphasises hands-on learning, catering to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced professionals. I challenge students to push their boundaries, refine their skills, and strive for excellence. Teaching is a continuous learning experience for me, and my passion lies in exploring emerging tools and innovations that shape the future of architectural design.

Architecture concept taught by Vikramaditya Shah
The following is a summary of a lesson. Vikramaditya introduced Kurt to Revit, guiding him through essential functionalities such as interface navigation, project setup, PDF importing, view settings, and level creation. Kurt gained practical experience by creating floor plans and walls based on a PDF drawing. As a follow-up, Kurt was assigned homework to explore placing doors and windows within the project.

Vikramaditya taught Barrie how to identify and remove interior surfaces causing issues with SketchUp components, manage tag colors for consistency, and introduced several plugins to streamline architectural modeling. Barrie practiced removing interior surfaces and creating simple walls and openings using the 101 bit plugin. Vikramaditya suggested Barrie practice using the new plugins and create a simple animation using scenes in SketchUp.

Vikramaditya guided Bob through an AutoCAD lesson, focusing on efficient symbol management using blocks and groups. They worked on creating a symbol library and developed new electrical symbols, including portable and stationary generators. The instruction also covered a review of essential commands like stretch, align, overkill, and purge. Vikramaditya will provide the template file, and Bob is tasked with practicing blocks and the stretch command for their next meeting.

Vikramaditya provided Barrie with guidance on advanced SketchUp techniques, specifically focusing on creating windows, sourcing 3D models, and efficiently using Layout for scaled drawings. During their time together, they also addressed scene management issues and refined dimensioning. Vikramaditya assigned Barrie practice on window creation and scene setup in SketchUp for their upcoming lesson.

Vikramaditya guided Bob through modifying and correcting electrical drawings in AutoCAD. Bob actively practiced essential commands like 'align,' 'stretch,' 'extend,' 'copy,' and 'match properties' to fine-tune object sizes, line weights, colors, and text properties. Vikramaditya encouraged Bob to continue practicing these AutoCAD commands and arranged a follow-up lesson for Friday to answer any additional questions.

During their recent lesson, Vikramaditya guided Selena through the SketchUp interface, covering essential aspects like tools, materials, styles, and plugins. Selena took the initiative to download and install several SketchUp plugins, notably AR textures and 1001bit Pro. Vikramaditya then assigned her the practical exercise of modeling her bedroom with the software and its various tools, in preparation for their next lesson scheduled in two weeks.
