About your tutor
I am Vikramaditya Shah Bundela, an architect specialising in architectural design, conservation, and AI integration. With experience across three firms, I have developed diverse skills, from designing and preserving structures to training AI models for architectural applications. Teaching is a passion of mine—I have mentored students and professionals worldwide, both independently and through an architecture education startup. I am proficient in 11+ design tools, including Revit, SketchUp, Rhino 3d, and Autocad Architecture, Photoshop, InDesign, Lumion, D5 Render, Twinmotion and more. I focus on optimising architectural workflows using AI. My dissertation explored AI-driven design automation, and I continue to push the boundaries of technology in the AEC industry. I know 50+ AI tools and always strive to teach the easiest workflow possible.

Class overview
My teaching methodology is centred around interactive, two-way engagement, where I encourage students to actively participate and share their insights—I often learn from them as well. I believe in project-based learning and teach accordingly. I think that students should learn by doing and not just watching tutorials. I focus on teaching the most efficient and optimised workflows for architectural software, ensuring students gain practical expertise that enhances their professional capabilities. My approach emphasises hands-on learning, catering to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced professionals. I challenge students to push their boundaries, refine their skills, and strive for excellence. Teaching is a continuous learning experience for me, and my passion lies in exploring emerging tools and innovations that shape the future of architectural design.

Architecture concepts taught by Vikramaditya Shah
The Tutor guided the Student on architectural design presentation strategies, focusing on the importance of storytelling, emotional connection, and effective communication of design intent. They discussed using software tools like Revit and AI for visualization, and introduced the concept of architectural "tectonics" in relation to a student's project, with a looming Monday deadline.

Effective Design Presentation and Storytelling
The Tutor and Student reviewed various AutoCAD commands essential for architectural drafting. They covered arc creation, the 'divide' and 'hatch' commands, and methods for joining and extending lines. The session concluded with a discussion on blocks vs. groups and the utility of 'xline' for elevations, with plans to cover annotations in a future session.

Fillet and Trim/Extend Commands
Hatching and Associativity
The student and tutor worked extensively on advanced SketchUp modeling techniques for building cabinet structures, focusing on component manipulation, creating equidistant copies using the divide command, and precise placement of elements. They also explored the use of scanning apps like Polycam for importing real-world dimensions into 3D models.

Offsetting and Measuring in 3D Modeling
The Student and Tutor discussed architectural design principles, focusing on integrating new structures with existing ones, material selection, and spatial planning. They used 3D modeling software to explore massing and form, and the Tutor provided feedback on design concepts and software recommendations, suggesting the Student prioritize floor plan development for the next session.

User Experience and Storytelling in Design
The student worked with the tutor on organizing and structuring a 3D cabinet model in SketchUp, focusing on grouping, components, and hierarchy. They practiced various organizational techniques and learned about the benefits of using components for repeated elements, with plans to continue practicing these organizational skills in future sessions.

Components vs. Groups: When to Use Which
The Student and Tutor focused on architectural design for a building extension, exploring form generation, material use (glass bricks, tile facades), and stylistic influences like deconstructivism. They discussed integrating new elements with existing structures and utilizing AI for design ideation, with plans for the student to explore these concepts further.
