About your tutor

I am Vikramaditya Shah Bundela, an architect specialising in architectural design, conservation, and AI integration. With experience across three firms, I have developed diverse skills, from designing and preserving structures to training AI models for architectural applications. Teaching is a passion of mine—I have mentored students and professionals worldwide, both independently and through an architecture education startup. I am proficient in 11+ design tools, including Revit, SketchUp, Rhino 3d, and Autocad Architecture, Photoshop, InDesign, Lumion, D5 Render, Twinmotion and more. I focus on optimising architectural workflows using AI. My dissertation explored AI-driven design automation, and I continue to push the boundaries of technology in the AEC industry. I know 50+ AI tools and always strive to teach the easiest workflow possible.

Class overview

My teaching methodology is centred around interactive, two-way engagement, where I encourage students to actively participate and share their insights—I often learn from them as well. I believe in project-based learning and teach accordingly. I think that students should learn by doing and not just watching tutorials. I focus on teaching the most efficient and optimised workflows for architectural software, ensuring students gain practical expertise that enhances their professional capabilities. My approach emphasises hands-on learning, catering to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced professionals. I challenge students to push their boundaries, refine their skills, and strive for excellence. Teaching is a continuous learning experience for me, and my passion lies in exploring emerging tools and innovations that shape the future of architectural design.

Vikramaditya guided Kurt on enhancing his Revit models by incorporating furniture and aesthetic elements. The lesson focused on sourcing models from platforms like BIM object, Google, and SketchUp Warehouse. Kurt gained practical experience importing and manipulating these models, creating 3D views and sections, and exploring various rendering options within Revit. For homework, Kurt is tasked with completing the furniture placement and window installations in his model for their next review.

Vikramaditya guided Selena through an introductory SketchUp lesson, providing an overview of the software's interface, which included model information, preferences, shortcuts, templates, and graphics settings. They also discussed the key differences between groups and components and how to effectively use tags for organization. Selena was then instructed to practice using the tools and attempt to build a simple chair, focusing on establishing proper hierarchy and order within the outliner.

Vikramaditya guided Bob through an AutoCAD lesson focused on merging CAD files. Bob gained practical experience copying elements, adjusting spacing with the stretch command, and scaling the drawing for proper fit. He also learned to manipulate elements to replace existing panels with new ones. Vikramaditya further enhanced the drawing by adding a portable generator connection icon, then shared the updated file with Bob for additional modifications and field verification.

Vikramaditya guided Barrie through a SketchUp lesson, where they delved into animation techniques. The instruction specifically covered creating interior views and mastering human perspective, alongside developing custom templates within the software. They also explored dynamic components for doors and the process of transferring materials between different SketchUp models. As a practical next step, Vikramaditya advised Barrie to prepare a clean template file for his review before finalizing it as a standard template. Their next meeting is set for Thursday of the following week.

The following is a summary of a lesson. Vikramaditya guided Kurt through the process of using Revit to develop a floor plan, covering topics such as room definition, furniture placement, and sheet creation for presentation. During the lesson, Kurt actively practiced defining rooms, adding room separators, and tagging them, as well as inserting and positioning furniture. Vikramaditya will provide the Revit file to Kurt and recommended that Kurt populate the plan with furniture and submit the completed plan.
