About your tutor
I am Vikramaditya Shah Bundela, an architect specialising in architectural design, conservation, and AI integration. With experience across three firms, I have developed diverse skills, from designing and preserving structures to training AI models for architectural applications. Teaching is a passion of mine—I have mentored students and professionals worldwide, both independently and through an architecture education startup. I am proficient in 11+ design tools, including Revit, SketchUp, Rhino 3d, and Autocad Architecture, Photoshop, InDesign, Lumion, D5 Render, Twinmotion and more. I focus on optimising architectural workflows using AI. My dissertation explored AI-driven design automation, and I continue to push the boundaries of technology in the AEC industry. I know 50+ AI tools and always strive to teach the easiest workflow possible.

Class overview
My teaching methodology is centred around interactive, two-way engagement, where I encourage students to actively participate and share their insights—I often learn from them as well. I believe in project-based learning and teach accordingly. I think that students should learn by doing and not just watching tutorials. I focus on teaching the most efficient and optimised workflows for architectural software, ensuring students gain practical expertise that enhances their professional capabilities. My approach emphasises hands-on learning, catering to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced professionals. I challenge students to push their boundaries, refine their skills, and strive for excellence. Teaching is a continuous learning experience for me, and my passion lies in exploring emerging tools and innovations that shape the future of architectural design.

Architecture concepts taught by Vikramaditya Shah
The Student and Tutor collaborated on refining an AutoCAD drawing, focusing on ground floor plans and elevations. The Student worked on aligning scaled drawings, correcting wall dimensions, and managing layers for clarity. The session concluded with a discussion of future work on elevations and setting the next appointment.
Object Joining and Correction
Drawing Accuracy and Survey Data Integration
Layer Management and Object Properties
Block Editing In-Place and Alignment
Hatching Associativity & Application
Dimensioning Best Practices
The session involved the student learning to use SketchUp for bathroom renovation design, focusing on practical application for communicating with contractors. The Student practiced modifying components, using the section plane tool, and creating custom cabinetry, and grouping elements to build a bathroom design. The Instructor recommended practicing with all of the tools available to become more familiar with the system.

Instructor Panel Utilization
Precise Modeling with Measurements
Component Mirroring using the Flip Tool
Grouping and Component Hierarchy
Utilizing the 3D Warehouse
Basic Massing Approach
The Student practiced 3D modeling in SketchUp by designing a modular shelving unit. They focused on using correct referencing, creating and editing components, and understanding SketchUp's interface. The Tutor recommended further practice, using reference models, and leveraging online resources like the 3D Warehouse and ChatGPT for design assistance.

The Student and Tutor practiced creating blocks and applying hatch patterns in AutoCAD, addressing scaling and display issues. They then began working on layer management, encountering difficulty in merging and deleting layers. The Tutor will review the drawing file to troubleshoot layer issues, and Student will receive the fixed file on Google Drive.

Layer Management and Cleanup
The session introduced the student to SketchUp, covering basic tools like push/pull, offset, line, and move, as well as core concepts like groups and components. The student began modeling a closet design and practiced importing pre-made components. The next session is scheduled for Monday, with a focus on building basic box designs using rectangles.

SketchUp Basics & Interface Navigation
The session focused on AutoCAD, where the Student practiced manipulating drawings, including moving elements, printing to PDF, and copying objects between files. They also worked on modifying text and number values within existing drawings. The Student was advised to repeat the discussed processes on similar drawings and to seek further guidance if needed.
