Prangna - About your AP tutor
Mathematics is not everyone cup of coffee and I consider myself to be blessed as I have been teaching this particular subject to students from the last 11-12years. In general, students also Students hesitate in doing this particular subject. Taking about my qualification, I have done Bachelors in Non-medical and masters in mathematics from a renowned university. I have great interest in science, especially mathematics as it is all about dealing with numbers. Professionally I have taught in a college as an Associate professor and currently working as a freelancer tutor, helping students in making them understand different concepts of mathematics, clearing their doubts. So far, I am making all the possible efforts to increase students inclination towards mathematics

Teaching methodology
Mathematics is not a theoretical subject, so sometimes I make use of power point presentations and videos to explain a particular concept. As I believe visuals have more impactful, and this aid in better understanding than listening. Moreover, I plan my sessions keeping in mind a student's requirements and targets. Some students require more practise and more attention towards certain topics, so sessions are planned according to their pace. My priority is to have an interactive session in which a student asks multiple questions , clears one’s doubts . This ensures that pupil is able to understand in a better way. Also, I make sure that a student gets proper attention and is willing to learn more. My main teaching methodology is to increase students inclination towards this subject and remove their fear of mathematics. Apart from this, I am also helping students in completing their assignments and homework. They are able to complete their work assessments within the given time period

AP concept taught by Prangna
The Student reviewed exponents, decimal multiplication, identifying perfect squares, and converting numbers to scientific notation. The Student practiced various problems related to these concepts and demonstrated an understanding of scientific notation. Homework was assigned to reinforce the concepts learned during the session.
Scientific Notation
Evaluating Expressions with Exponents
Perfect Squares
Decimal Multiplication
Exponents and Negative Numbers
The session involved a review of quadratic equations, focusing on finding the vertex, axis of symmetry, and intercepts. The Student practiced identifying these features from equations in both standard and general forms. The Student was encouraged to reach out for more practice problems or a test if needed.
Vertex of a Parabola
Standard Form of a Parabola Equation
Vertex Form from Quadratic Form
Y-Intercept
Axis of Symmetry
X-Intercepts (Roots/Zeros)
The Student and Tutor worked through a worksheet of quadratic equations, practicing solving using square roots, simplifying radicals, and working with imaginary numbers. The Student also reviewed absolute value equations and binomial squared equations. They practiced breaking down radicals and using the square root property to solve for x and also discussed school schedule and performance.
Square Root Principle
Isolating Variables in Equations
Simplifying Square Roots
Imaginary Numbers (i)
Solving Equations with Squared Binomials
Complex Numbers: Combining Real and Imaginary Components
Absolute Value Equations
The session covered telling time on analog clocks, including understanding 'half past' and 'quarter to' concepts. The Student practiced calculating time differences and adding hours and minutes to a starting time. Homework will include clock-face problems and time-calculation questions.
AM and PM Distinction
Elapsed Time Calculation
Telling Time: Past and To
Minutes and Hours Conversion
Analog Clocks and Time Formats
Prangna worked with Susanna on solving absolute value equations. Susanna practiced setting up and solving two equations for each absolute value problem, and they also covered special cases where no solution exists. They worked through several examples from Susanna's worksheet.
No Solution Cases for Absolute Value
Solving Absolute Value Equations
Absolute Value Function
Prangna tutored Aaron on solving quadratic equations using splitting the middle term, the quadratic formula, and completing the square. Aaron practiced problems using each method, with a focus on a shortcut for splitting the middle term and handling fractions in completing the square. Prangna recommended that Aaron obtain difficult questions from his professor for review in a future session.
