The Tutor guided the Student through reading and interpreting guitar sheet music, focusing on rhythm, chord voicings, and special techniques. The Student practiced two songs, clarifying notation and finger placements. The Student will practice the pieces and review left-hand techniques in a future lesson.

They then explored a diagonal scale in standard tuning with a metronome, emphasizing legato playing and memorization. Finally, the student experimented with a new tuning (F A C G C E) and began learning the corresponding F major scale.

The student reviewed slash chords, learned 11th chords and their application, practiced a pentatonic scale exercise, and worked on sheet music reading. The Tutor assigned practicing the scales with a metronome and memorizing specific chord shapes. The next lesson will cover music theory and scales in a specific guitar tuning for math rock.

The Student practiced improvising riffs between chords using the pentatonic scale and learned about slash chords and chord inversions. The student was assigned to practice the pentatonic scale exercise, memorize slash chords, and practice triad inversions on the fourth string. The Tutor will send additional sheet music to practice reading.
