Singing concept taught by Raine
Raine Stern instructed Anna Florczak on guitar techniques, including warm-up exercises, pull-offs, slides, alternate picking, and power chords, using the song "Carry On My Wayward Son" as a practical example. They focused on hand and finger positioning for optimal playing and injury prevention. Anna's next lesson was rescheduled, and she was encouraged to practice during her upcoming trip to Poland.

On July 8, 2025, Raine Stern taught Tanner Devlin a guitar lesson focusing on "Tennessee Whiskey." The lesson covered minor chord shapes, a specific strumming pattern, wrist technique, chord transitions (especially bar chords), and shape repetition on the fretboard. Raine introduced the song's first riff, involving open E and A strings with slides, and explained the chord progression between A and B minor. The lesson emphasized understanding chord shapes and memorization techniques.

Raine Stern worked with Nor Dabhs on developing a "smacking" guitar technique for percussive rhythm, focusing on hand position, wrist movement, and finger control. Nor practiced the rhythm and hand movements separately before combining them. They discussed scheduling shorter lessons and potentially working together outside the app.

Raine Stern gave Dalia Keough a guitar lesson, working on Dalia's speed with a current song and introducing a new song, "Genius." They covered key identification, chord shapes (including bar chords and major/minor variations), and the tuning of the guitar. Raine will share the chord progressions and shapes in a Google Drive folder for Dalia to practice.

Raine Stern and Anna Florczak worked on guitar techniques, focusing on a Coldplay song to improve strumming and chord transitions, and began learning a riff from "Carry On My Wayward Son" using tabs. Raine explained tab reading and techniques like pull-offs. Anna was assigned to practice the riff section and use a metronome for the Coldplay song; Raine will upload lesson materials.

Raine is teaching Asher the fingerpicking pattern for "Dust in the Wind" in the key of C. Asher is struggling with the technique and chord changes, so Raine is breaking down the pattern step-by-step, emphasizing slow practice and understanding the underlying music theory. Raine uploaded chord charts and a video demonstration to Asher's Google Drive for practice during the week.
